Ascent Trip ReportLe Reculet and Crêt de la Neige are often climbed together because of their proximity and similar heights but contrasting features. The trailhead from the NW is at Plat des Menues, 855 metres, a large lay-by on the east side of the D991, just south of Niaizet and approximately 2 km south of the Lélex village sign. Climbing from the SE is more popular because of the wide track and easy access from Geneva but the NW has the advantage of more shade in ascent, particularly welcome in the summer.
The signposted times at Plat des Menues are Le Reculet 3 hours 0 minutes and Crêt de la Neige 3 hours 40 minutes. Our times were 2 hrs 10 min to Reculet, 40 min to Crêt de la Neige, 1 hr 30 min down: 5 hr total including all stops. |
