Ascent Trip Report

After a long hike in the morning in the Harz, I had planned to do this hike tomorrow. However, after setting up camp in the nearby village, I decided to bag it today, and have a lie in tomorrow. It's possible to make a nice 8km loop of this, taking in Schneeberg and Rosenberg peaks en route as well. Parking is ample and free near the Schneeberg refuge, and after you ascend here, you need to find the less used trail behind the big tower. You drop down, before eventually looping back over the road, and on the way to Beerberg. Near the trail is a small metal tower, but to reach the true summit you need to followna small unmarked trail a few hundred metres behind the tower. Nice and quiet area for a walk
