Ascent Trip ReportSaturday brunch-start on a day when the Chugach FRange looked socked-in from Anchorage. No parking at Crow Pass trailhead, luckily a Prius owner re-parked to make some room. Overcast on our way to the cutoff to the pass, and also a black bear sighting. Once in the valley that leads up to the pass it started to rain steadily, and eventually hard. It magically let up as we made our way up Grey Jay and we were treated to summit sun. We drank beers and ate jerky. We took our time as we weren't eager to go up Camp Robber, as the rain clouds were quickly wafting back in again.
We stayed climber's right of the permanent snowfield on Camp Robber, and gained the summit ridge from there. Fun 3rd class scrambling leads to the summit. This peak looks MUCH more intimidating from Grey Jay than it does when you're actually on it.
