Ascent Trip ReportAfter this morning's Monte Caplone ascent.
From S, parking just uphill of Rifugio turnoff, at 940m (ignore lower parking, where my GPS track ends: turn L there, bend R and follow paved road to its end). Signposted trail for Mte Misone, soon forking L, climbing thru woods to reach meadow with farm, R turn steeply up thru meadow, in woodland bend L with main path, then obvious to summit. No one else up there, just one couple en route. Outcrop at HP with 2 rocks balanced to make an ingenious cairn; metal cross a few metres W, forgot to look for a trig, certainly no pillar. Hot steady climb, path rubbly in places, up in 1h45, 0h30 on top, 1h down, glad of water tap to wash and cool off.
