Ascent Trip Report

Parking at the refuge, then up to Col de la Beccia on a good track. The path is way longer and loses few m of elevation then forks left, instead we crossed on open fields to avoid elevation loss. Few minutes of rest at Pas de la Beccia, where there is still barb wire from the war, then up towards the East ridge on a good trail, which soon was full of snow: for this reason we traversed a little higher towards the South.
The East ridge is not to be underestimated: steep, loose, and sometimes exposed. The gully described later by Woodall was covered in snow and provided some protection while traversing on the ledge. Some easy scrambling and then on the top, full of French coming from the easier SW normal route.
We descended on this route and went then up to Mont Froid with its nice ruins and then back to refuge for a good beer!
