Ascent Trip ReportThe barrier on 1300 m of height was closed for cars that day, only buses for ziplining and party guests were allowed (there was an event on the way to the summit). So I parked my car and went on the hiking trail (not well marked and very steep). After I passed the party I went on on the asphalt road until I reached the observation deck.
At this point there was a closed barrier and a military guy, but I guess the barrier was only closed for cars and it was not generally forbidden to go up. I took the path north of the barrier and after some time passed a few buildings on the left side (not a single person in sight). Afterwards I had to cross the Oman border a few times until I reached the Western peak.
I didn't climb the main summit on the Oman side because I had to climb way more meters of height than I had planned and had to drive to Ras Al Khaimah.
