Ascent Trip ReportThree solo hikers were on the summit together. We had fierce westerly winds on the summit so that we all felt threatened about staying on our feet. When I started up my inReach device to post my summit message, I got the "message received" notification, so looked at it. It was my wife's friend saying that Rhonda had gone to the emergency room feeling "weird" and that I needed to get home ASAP. I had planned to hike next-door neighbor Black Crater in the morning, but that plan went out the window and I headed for home. Kind of a weird outing to say the least. But the good part is that all her tests proved negative and she came home soon after I started driving. What a huge relief!!
