Ascent Trip Report

After doing Borah the morning before, we camped at Mackay Reservoir and headed up here early morning. Daniel's truck was taking a beating get us as far as he did up that road. Rhi stayed behind and we continued through the steep woods until we were out in the open and on rock. Traversed to the pass until we were up on the extremely loose scree and continued up the west face to the summit. Some serious scrambling through the loose material. I got way ahead of Daniel and Richard and waited at the summit about a half hour until they finally made it. It's a labyrinth getting up there and a lot of choosing your battles.

Definitely weren't about to go back down that same way so we went down the north face which was a lot more moderate and got in one good glissade. But then we had to traverse all the way around back to the pass on the west side and that ended up being a lot more strenuous and tricky than we'd bargained for. Made it out in one piece. Definitely more technical than Borah the way we went. What a tandem for these last 2 days. Lost rivers are beautiful.
