Ascent Trip Report

We cheated a bit on the ascent. After the very interesting visit to the underground power station/pump (they pump the water back up when demand on the grid is low, so it works like a battery), in a hole in the middle of the mountain, big enough to swallow Coventry Cathedral, we then took the bus to see the high level dam and set off from there. We walked the whole Cruachan horseshoe in a clockwise direction, via Meall Cuanail, Drochard Ghlas, Stob Diamh and Stob Gargh, and returned to the Cruachan Power Station Visitors' Centre, where our car was parked.
