Ascent Trip ReportClimbed from camp at the upper Charlia Lake. It was pretty simple to traverse the loose rock slopes above the lower lake to the broad pass between Boulder Ridge and Ridge of Gargoyles. After crossing to the North side of the pass, I traversed one steep snowfield and climbed the steep, broken rock gulley on the NW side of the peak, then scrambled to the summit. The guide book describes climbing this from the Upper Big Quilcene side, but as long as you have the time to take the good trails to Charlia Lakes, this is a much easier approach. |
