Ascent Trip ReportThis was a good one. I started from the Ortega Oaks Candy Store and took the Morgan Trail up to the San Mateo Peak trail, then climbed to the peak. After a quick break on the summit boulder I continued off the other side of the peak, following a very old sign for Tenaja Falls. Once I passed that sign the trail got progressively more overgrown and difficult to follow. I kept heading downhill following the path of least resistance (and backtracking a time or two) until I popped out 2.3 miles later at an unsigned junction with the actual Tenaja Falls trail. I turned right to climb back up to the Morgan Trail and took that 3 miles back to my car. It got a little hot and that descent from San Mateo was frustrating at times, but overall this was a very good day.
