Ascent Trip ReportClimbed on 2night/3day backpacking trip staying 2 nights at Meysan Lake. This was my final day, and dropped my pack at the bottom of the scree chute. Took me only 1hr on the spot to climb up to the flat saddle. Attempted Rosco Peak first, which turned out to the be a mistake. Couldn't climb the spine due to the class 5 notch. Quickly researched online and found that people were traversing on the north slope below the ridge. Due to terrain and snow, and lack of time, I thought to summit Lone Pine Peak first bailing on this peak for now. Climbed Lone Pine but found I didn't have enough time, and perhaps not enough water either to climb Rosco Peak. Btw, climbing the scree chute was much easier than described. |
