Ascent of North Jawbone Peak on 2020-05-23Date: | Saturday, May 23, 2020 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | North Jawbone Peak | Location: | Australia-Victoria | Elevation: | 2608 ft / 794 m |
Ascent Trip ReportStarted at Jawbone Carpark at around 11:55am and hiked up the Jawbone Creek Track, which was relatively steep with ferny vegetation and a trickling creek nearby. We first hiked to South Jawbone Peak via 'The Farmyard' before coming back down Jawbone Creek Track a little bit and then hiking onto North Jawbone Peak. After this, we retraced our steps down Jawbone Creek Track all the way back to the Jawbone Carpark. Views were especially spectacular at South Jawbone Peak, with much of the range in view, whereas North Jawbone Peak was more modest. Both peaks required minor scrambling from the route we took. |
