Ascent Trip Report

Warm but pleasant at the TH. Stacia and I set off with my dogs Macy and Shira.

We hit snow a little ways in, and then shortly after that, a man decked out in gps, walkie talkie and bear spray stopped us and said we'd need traction gear in another half mile or we wouldn't be able to continue. We thanked him and decided to continue and see for ourselves. We plodded along, reaching thicker snowpack and skipped the switchbacks heading straight up the hillside. Not long after, we made it to the common summit (not the true higher summit at Beckler Central, 8 or 10 feet higher) with beautiful views all around. The ridgetop scramble to the true summit looked dicey, and must be from the small number of people who have tagged that one.

Had a quick snack and ran most of the way down to the car. Giving myself a bit of heat exhaustion. Oops!
