Ascent Trip Report

Parking lot was not full at the Baldface Circle Trail. Had to cross the street and walk a little to the trail head. We did the Baldface Circle Trail instead of the Slippery Brook. This hike once you get to the shelter is easy then it becomes class 3 then 4 then there are some class 5 moves on the scramble. At the time it was dry but some wet spots. First walk on the scramble we all slipped. I held on tightly. You will need someone else to help guide throught the trail. This was steep. Someone went ahead and did a great job. It was not their first time. You will have to create your own switchbacks. You will rock climb for awhile. There is a section where you can go under a rock and through a hole if you put your back pack up over the rock. Great views and worth the hike. Can see Mt Washington in the snow. There was not any snow on the trail but off to the side. Hike on the ledge to North Baldface. There is snow and deep at times. Good monorail. When you start down Baldface there is lots of snow just go around and back on the trail. Little rock scramble here but not as much as South Baldface. Hike to Bicknell Ridge and kept going to the circle trail. Still some great views.
