Ascent Trip ReportThis was plan Z, after plan A to Y fell through.
I had the GPS track of "Honorio Valdes" loaded on my watch but I didn't follow his track exactly. I followed the lake trail on Gaia App to reach the lake. From there, I followed the boot track.
Time from car to lake: 3.5hrs. Elevation Gain: 3,879ft. Distance: 4.86 miles. The lake elevation was 7060ft.
From lake to peak: 1:07hr. Elevation Gain: 1,261ft. Distance: 0.72 miles
From peak to lake: 0.5hr.
From lake back to car: 2.5hrs.
It’s very beautiful at this time with yellow flowers all over the mountain. Snow started ~5000 ft. Lake was still frozen but the shape was visible with a thin layer of turquoise color underneath the surface.
