Ascent Trip ReportGot off I-80 at exit 93/Toulon and drove around 6 miles up Ragged Top Road (well graded dirt in very good condition) to a pass at around 5,700'. There's a broad, flat area off the road near a power line stanchion- parked here. Headed cross-country up the south slope angling toward subpeak that's shown as 6703T. Highpoint and route became obvious as I ascended. Crossed Pt. 6975T to Toulon Pk. Around 4 miles round-trip with 1,300' or so elevation gain (plus a little extra gain with undulations along ridge). Easy Class 2 type terrain with no fences or other obstacles encountered. Saw a few cows and a couple of pronghorn. |
