Ascent Trip Report

Parking lot had one vehicle they were hunting for turkeys. Hike the Chippewa Trail to a loggin trail where there was a sign to the left for Kilns. Visit the Kilns and went back to the spot. Continue pass where there is one yellow blaze. Look to the left there are two trails take the one with the yellow blaze. If you do not see a sign for the forest then you went along the wrong one. Well marked. After an open space then there is a steep climb. You will see herd paths aways up once you see a good view. You can take them to the ledge for some views. No snow until really until the Junction at the base of summit. If get off trail just back track and you will find the trail. There is occasionally some trails that go straight and you know this was not the way you went. There is a hand made platform about to the second or third scramble to the right as you go up. May not notice unless you go close to the ledge and you will see the blue tarp. There is lots of herd paths so once again back track. Great view nice day. no bugs yet.
