Ascent Trip ReportFrom 29 Pines, cross the Teanaway River Bridge, then turn left and cross Jungle Creek Bridge. Then take the gated road to the east shoulder of Tarzan. Leave it when it turns sharply south. The step summit cone is a gigantic pile of rubble/gravel with slick needle cast coating. This is due to the 2017 Jolly Fire.
This trip would be way better as a ski or snowshoe.
Not wanting to return the road due to postholing snow, I took the long east ridge which was delightful open forest, some big pines and Doug firs, and an education in fire behavior/intensity.
