Ascent of Dorset Mountain on 2020-03-21
|Date:||Saturday, March 21, 2020|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||3760 ft / 1146 m|
Ascent Trip ReportAfter hiking Mt. Equinox in the morning, we drove 25 minutes north to Mt. Dorset. The ascent was very straightforward. The logging road was easy to follow. There were a couple of easy stream crossings on the way up the logging road before connecting with the ATV trail. The ATV trail was nice and wide, and easy to follow up until about a quarter mile before the summit. From there, it's an obvious herd path. I looked around for the doorknobs in the tree, but couldn't find them a the summit. Luckily, we found them on the descent back near the trail junction towards Dorset's sister peak.
Distance: 6.59 miles | Hike Time: 3:18
There are too many points in my GPX file to post here, so I am linking out to my Garmin Connect activity which I have shared publicly:
