Ascent Trip Report

The snow is all melted out now except for an insignificant patch along a steep section of the trail. I did it in my running shoes. Take the short, level side trail to the right of the false summit. It leads to the best views down to Plain. In returning, one can scramble directly up to the 2800'+ false summit. From the 2840'+ true summit, I continued south along the ridge trail until finally deciding why bother and reversed course. In returning, there's an amazing lone house up on Plain Ridge that comes into view. I accidentally stumbled upon it later in the day. Despite the sun shining, some clouds provided snow flurries for a short magical time. Each flake was shining brightly in the sunshine. They were like falling stars.
