| Elevation:||4140 ft / 1261 m|
Ascent Trip ReportWe approached via Devils Hole Road which was a well maintained dirt road. We then took a jeep road that required high clearance about a mile east to where we started. Had we driven maybe half a mile further, we might have found a road that went all the way to the where the canyon gets narrow. One can make this hike at least half the distance by driving well up into the canyon.
At that point, we wanted to take the narrow canyon heading east, but were stopped by deep holes and steep walls. I could have climbed around, but Stacey was uncertain, so we backed up a bit and found the route we settled on. The slope up the high ridge was not bad, with numerous nice patches of solid rock (as opposed to the plentiful loose scree).
While Stacey stopped at about 4,040' I proceeded around the highest parts of that section, descended to about 3,900' on a ridge which was not bad to traverse (and had some presumably game trails). I couldn't tell which summit was highest so I visited both, both of which had great views.
