Ascent Trip Report

After the previous day's Bukit Tinggul ascent.

From NE, Resort Prima Koolibah (S6.72122° E107.01225°), via streets and alleys and a concrete bridge (S6.72959° E107.00803°) to join the route described in Petter Bjorstad's TR (using his log bridge at S6.732° E107.006°). Route generally good, a few bits of rooty scrambling, the section soon after the first summit being the most involved, route criss-crosses narrow ridge a few times, never straying far from crest. Turn R at S6.74793° E106.97840° - route overgrown and vague at this point. 5h to summit, 9h20 round trip.

Summit was deserted, has a tall trig whose marker is a cross-marked bolt; highpoint a concrete base and stump (S6.77046° E106.96517°, 3032m).

I lost the trail for a while on main part of descent, beware! Half an hour of steady rain, otherwise dry. After final summit, be sure to take right fork (S6.73341° E106.98668°), obscure at start but well marked with orange tape.

A wash in the river at the log bridge, then retrace route back thru fields and alleys to hotel, where my driver waiting. Retrieve my bag from hotel reception then head for Bogor. The afternoon monsoon starts at 1440, today I beat it by 20 mins! Hopefully Salak tomorrow then home: flight rebooked for Sunday morning: Coronavirus situation becoming serious.
