Ascent Trip Report

Ski tour to Mt Ellinor, stopped in the bowl right below the summit when wind picked up - our main goal was to ski the chute. Our car (AWD w/ decent clearance) made it to about 1.5 miles below the LOWER trail head. This added a decent amount of road to our day. Acsent was icy (would recommend snow shoes and micro spikes) and the last 100ft of the chute consisted of about .5 ft of snow on top of ice. Placing axe was challanging, although we made it up with just our ski boots, crampons would have been very helpful. (we had them but failed to put them on before we were about half way up the spicy section).

Great day with some fun skiing back to the car.
