Ascent Trip ReportSecond tower today after driving about 2 hours from cathedral rock to the Azure Mt. trailhead. So far 5 hours of driving logged in so the hike was a welcome relief from the car. This mountain is listed as a 1 out of 4 for difficulty where as Kane is rated a 2. I really think this should be reversed. In my opinion Kane is much easier. Still made good time to the summit but when I got there the wind had really picked up and it started to rain which limited the view. The lookout just past the tower is breathtaking but it was so windy I couldn't stay long enough to enjoy it. Headed down after only a few minutes and started home. Stopped in Tupper Lake for a Frappe from McDonalds and was home by 7 p.m. 8 hours of driving with 4.4 miles hiked. Total time about 10 hours. Time to relax and watch the Red Sox / Yankees game.
Game Note: top of the 6th Yanks up 7-1!
