Ascent Trip Report

After a morning ascent of Lions Head.

3h40 including Nordhoek, from SE, Silvermines dam, mapped trails, via the impressive and busy Elephants Eye cave. A few folk heading for Constantiaberg, summit marked by white trig pillar (S34.05416° E18.38550°, 927m), small radar dome nearby and large comms compound lower down. Rock-paved trail descends to col, less formal trail steeply up then undulates, excellent coastal scenery, I miss a R fork and cross an intermediate summit. Nordhoek has large summit cairn. Trails descend unexciting slope then descend to dam.

My last ascent is Higher Steenberg Peak, before heading back to the airport.
