Ascent Trip Report2h25 up, 2h15 down, 4h55 round trip. From N, the designated gate (S33.36639° E21.36500° 1180m), keep R of the small brushy creek (had water when I was there), within 1km found a line of cairns (between S33.37313° E21.36067° and S33.37739° E21.35978°) taking an efficient line at R edge of gorge, then approx beeline for summit, a bit scrambly higher up and not super efficient. Several rocky summits, highest has remains of three trig pillars, all toppled, highpoint a boulder 1m N of trig, S33.39826° E21.36773°, 2322m. Windy. Followed Coatzee route down although opted out of one of the downclimbs! Followed GPS back to uppermost of my line of cairns, NB need to keep L (W) of the little rocky top S of last cairn as is steep and technical on the side facing the gorge.
Might be simpler to head straight up from gate, ie keeping L of creek. Initial steep ascent might be rough.
Stayed previous night at Waterval Eco Farmstay at Zoar just SE of the peak. Proprietor loves the mountains and has climbed many, including this one. Recommended!
