Ascent Trip ReportParked @ West Union St. Trailhead, headed up Blue summit Trail (Burr&Burton) steep climb up old roads to the spring, then hiking trail through pine forest to trail junction near summit. took Red Trail to Lookout Rock then back to summit on Lookout Rock Trail, checked out a view on the powerlines over by the FAA complex, then descended along the Toll Rd to the Saddle near Little Equinox. Guard rail painted red to mark Red Trail entrance, very steep hillside trail, very unused/overgrown. Followed Red Trail back to Blue Trail and descended back to vehicle, about 7.5-8 miles RT, great views from summit, Lookout Rock and the Saddle. |
