Ascent Trip Reportxcountry/whack sb from Radar Station …. 500 meters, 15' gain, 20 minute RT
From Hwy#400, exit 52, we drove east on CR16 for 1km to a right turn on Jane Street, then south 4.1km to a right on the long driveway to the signed "Atmospheric Environment Station/Weather Radar Station", which is .7km west - a large installations with a huge Tower and a number of buildings.
We parked here without getting permission to procced, which was an error. On the way back 2 guys reminded me that I needed permission - so please do get permission, a sign on one building (which we didn't see) reads "Visitors check in at the radar Building".
The PB coordinates puts the HP, just south of the fence behind buildings (inside the woods). The high ground contour 360M is quite large and after checking out the area I found/chose my HP (43.96282,-79.57455) at about 75 meters west of the PB coordinates or 140 meters right-of-south of the Radar Tower. The N-S Hwy #400 is 100+ meters west.
As far as HP goes there is not much here, however a visit to the Radar Station is well worth the time.
