Ascent Trip ReportIt was an unusually warm January day (60s), so I figured some of the snow in the San Gabriels would have melted. The hike on the Strawberry Peak trail is pretty easy. At the saddle between Strawberry and Lawlor, I left the main trail and followed a use trail to the summit of Lawlor. There was plenty of snow in the shaded portions of the climb, making some parts slightly treacherous. Followed someone else's postholes on the way up. Had to do some minor scrambling on the snowy and rocky parts. Clear air provided wide visibility from San Nicolas Island to Mount San Jacinto.
