|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Motorized Transport to Trailhead:||Car|
|Peak:||Dodge County High Point|
| Elevation:||1230 ft / 374 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe trip was largely uneventful. After parking at the intersection of Illinois and Arthur Roads, I hiked down to the farmhouse notated in John's and Gustav's reports from 2015 and 2013, respectively. Approaching the farmhouse I made my presence known, but was unable to locate any occupants. There were a pair of other vehicles on the property and evidence suggested the space is still used in some manner, but I continued on up the hill.
Approaching the summit the main road curves off towards a couple of the wind turbines. Referring back to Gustav's earlier report, I agree with his placement of the highpoint as another 100 yards further north of the last turnout to the turbines. At my visit it appeared a plywood deerstand had been erected near the highpoint along the fence line. The stand was unoccupied, but notable as firearm hunting season in Wisconsin closes on January 4th, 2019. Hiking back I saw no signs of any occupants at the dilapidated farmhouse, and I continued back to my vehicle parked at the intersection.
It is a very windy and exposed point for those who visit in the winter, and the sound of the turbines fills the air constantly when they are running. After this ascent it was back to the car to head east towards Ozaukee County.
