Ascent Trip Report***Sierra Club Outing***
led by Mat Kelliher, Bill Simpson, Jerry Grenard
Fun loop hike of the Sandstone Septet which includes Sandstone Peak, Boney Peak, Inspiration Point, Exchange Peak, Tri Peaks, Pop Top, and Big Dome. We started out from the Sandstone Peak Trailhead off Yerba Buena Road. Good trail/road nearly the whole way; some cross country on the trip around the north side of Tri Peaks, then some more heading from Pop Top to Big Dome and then off Big Dome until we got onto the trail that heads down canyon below Sandstone. Nice and cool out there, with excellent views all day.
About 7.5 hours for the day with 9.0 miles and 2,700' gain.
Big group, bigger fun!
