Ascent Trip Report

Parked in pull-out along Via Del Lago next to three other vehicles. Began hiking at 11:10 am with a temperature of 52 degrees. Crossed the paved road and onto a dirt road which snaked along a while before ending at a fenced solar-powered State Park something or other. Here the trail heads up to the ridge and amongst the boulders of granite. Trail is very obvious. Lots of rain from a couple of days ago is evident by the snow covered mountains all around. On the summit is an obviously large boulder, but no flag (perhaps the recent winds were too strong). Located the register directly below the boulder on the north side under an overhang. Added a new pen to the baggie and log books. Enjoyed an amazing view of snow everywhere and a full lake below to the south. Breezy on top and back to the car where it was a pleasant 57 degrees. The drive to the trailhead was longer than the hike. Should be great wildflowers here in the spring.
