Ascent of Clark Mountain on 2019-11-16
|Date:||Saturday, November 16, 2019|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||7907 ft / 2410 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI parked at the evaporation ponds, but a passenger car could probably make it to here: 35°30'01.8"N 115°33'26.2"W. From there, the road becomes a lot more rocky, almost surely necessitating high clearance.
I ascended via the S/SW ridgeline, which was a bit tedious going, and then descended via the normal route. There are two class 3+ sections, but I took my time and was able to descend both facing outwards. A better route would be to do this peak counterclockwise so the cliffs do not have to be downclimbed, but I didn't want to put in all the vertical gain and then find the limestone cliffs to be beyond my comfort.
