Ascent of Tunnel Spring Mountains High Point on 2019-11-13
|Date:||Wednesday, November 13, 2019|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Tunnel Spring Mountains High Point|
| Elevation:||8440 ft / 2572 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI tried to follow the Sam Grant route up, and found it generally unpleasant. Very steep, slippery, and full of obstacles. Some bushwhacking.
I ended up taking a different route down, which was a little to the North, but still a little South of the Eric Kassan route. I found this route more pleasant - far less bushwhacking, although still plenty steep. I would recommend this route. It was straight, and simple. Tom Gathright is correct - the East side looks nicer.
This is not a mountain to which I would return.
