Ascent Trip ReportEntered 11/11/2019.
The main hike of leadership weekend with UMOC. Sawyer River Road was open despite the recent snow so we started at the Signal Ridge Trailhead. We took the Signal Ridge Trail all the way to the summit then looped around down the other side of the mountain and through Carrigain Notch, returning to Signal Ridge Trail. The Desolation Trail was steep but manageable. We wore microspikes. The weather was clear and the observation tower on the summit offered excellent views.
