Ascent Trip Report This was a solo hike of some peaks off of Moenkopi Rd. just outside the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area. I turned right (south) and drove 0.8 miles and parked. I then crossed country about a mile to a gully that goes up to a saddle between Red and 3835. Once on the saddle, I turned right (south) to Red. On Red, I found a benchmark and a rock cairn. From Red, it was back to the saddle then a short distance to 3835.
Next, was Campground Knoll. From the gully, I headed south to Campground Knoll. Next was Fire Station. From the Knoll, I headed north toward the Red Rock Campground. I was going to cut through the campground, climb under a fence onto BLM land and cross country to Fire Station. However, a campground host, who didn’t like me cutting through the campground, told me BLM didn’t like people hiking on their land. I thought this was strange, but decided to walk back to the car and go under the fence there. Just before I got to the car, I noticed a Hiker Pass Through gate about 80 yards from the road. I went through the gate, followed the fence line to a point where the fence turned left and I picked up a well traveled use trail to the summit.
