Ascent Trip ReportRussell and Whitney (from Whitney Portal)
Russell's East ridge is really fun. I descended the South face from the first notch west of the eastern (lower) summit, with one class 4 move (?), then went up Whitney's North face (enjoyable climbing along a ridge) and descended the Mountaineer's Route. My first time down the MR in the summer—so much scree! Not too many people. I wrote a trip report here.
