Ascent Trip ReportThe Snoqualmie mountain trail is snow free; take the cut off to climber's right to cave ridge. Once in the basin, follow the climber's trail, contouring to climber's right around Lion Rock (the big rock that looks like Mufasa from Lion King). From there, snow on the trail to the beginning of the west ridge. The ridge is snow free. Very solid rock, fun easy 4th to low 5th class climbing. One 30m rope is sufficient for the short rap down the north side of the ridge during the descent. Easy downclimbing from there to the base of the west ridge.
On a side note, during the descent, we noted that there is are bolts and a 2 bolt anchor on Lion rock. Looks like it might be a fun sport climb. Does anybody know what the grade on it is?
