Ascent Trip ReportSnow made for very difficult travel, especially through boulder fields. Took the ridge to the north of Cannon and then descended NW directly towards the parking area which turned out to be a massive mistake, extreme bushwhacking and on top of that a bunch of downed very slippery logs. Fell countless times. Lost equipment through the bushwhack, destroyed my pants, took a couple sticks to my eye, injured my left knee and other issues but somehow my phone survived which I was very thankful for as I finished in the dark and was using it as a flashlight. Going to make a while to recover from this. Never again bushwhacking like this! If anyone wants a "free" ice axe I can give you an approximate location where I lost mine in the bushwhack. Also, had to park a half mile from the lot due to the extreme new parking rules. |
