Ascent Trip ReportThis is a tough hike. It starts out going up a very steep loose rock and doesn't let up until you get to the ridgeline. Even there you still have a good distance ahead of you and still a good amount of elevation gain left. There is some bushwhacking here and there but not much overall. It was warmer than expected and for some reason my stashed water bottles sprung a leak and I lost a lot of water. Fortunately Ron had plenty of fluids so it wasn't a problem. Also, routing finding on the way down was surprisingly more difficult than on the way up (maybe we were tired?). Plus near the end of the hike there were 3 rattlesnakes, 2 of which I almost stepped on. It seems that this mountain is highly neglected since there were less than 5 summits in the last 3 years according to the register.
I edited out the couple of mistakes we made in the uploaded GPX track, but the stats are based on the actual hike. Like other people mentioned, there isn't good camping areas at the trailhead and a medium to high clearance vehicle is necessary to drive the rocky dirt road to it.
