Ascent Trip ReportAfter lunch at the visitor centre, we set off on the marked trail through the forest. On reaching the junction with the Goetheweg, we were forced to take shelter in an open hut, as a sudden thunderstorm slowly passed. We continued up to join a concrete road by the railway track. We followed this for several kilometres, before branching off to hike steeply up to the messy complex on the summit plateau. After refreshments in the Brocken Hotel, we retraced our outward route, just reaching the car before another thunderstorm struck. |
