Ascent Trip Report***Sierra Club Outing***
led by Mat Kelliher, Sunny Yi, Jason Park
Day 2 of a two day trip out to the Spring Mountains. We stayed at the Fletcher View Campground Friday and Saturday nights. Gorgeous weather both days with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the mid-50s; this despite the high temperature in nearby Las Vegas of 114 F. A lot to be said for adiabatic cooling.
Took the Trail Canyon trail to the North Loop Trail, then headed cross country up about 350' of an essentially awful scree slope to Mummy's western ridge. Followed a well defined use trail on the western ridge all the way up to the summit. Seriously nice peak with great views in all directions. This peak was the 50th DPS peak that I've led on an official Sierra Club outing. Big Fun!!
