Ascent Trip Report

The route from Boundary Peak across the California border to Montgomery Peak is straightforward across the connecting ridge. The route is mostly class 1-2 with optional class 3 for those who want it. There are often light signs of a use trail.

Update- I recently revisited this peak and think hypoxia must have been responsible for the above. While one clearly knows where one is going, the route is not straightforward as there are now numerous conflicting signs of use trails. Going around the obstacles on the way down from Boundary, the southeast side was more stable. Once ascending from the saddle, the sliding sands on the southeast side are tempting, but horrible- its far better to stay on the solid ridge.
