One of my favourite ascents of my 2019 CO trip. Superb scenery, interesting rock and one of the most unique 14er routes that circumnavigates Kit Carson Mountain via Kit Carson Avenue. There was a couple of small snow patches to navigate on the avenue which added some spice. Was sad to leave the Sangre de Cristo’s after this trip. Mosquitos were the worst on this day. Oddly more so near the TH then up higher. |
