Ascent Trip ReportPer other reports, only 2 of the 5 spots are necessary: Buffalo Lookout & the cow pasture. The owner of the pasture and 2 other men were present on my visit. The owner gave me permission to cross the hay field to the summit, although he repeatedly said that the county hp was Buffalo Lookout. Next, I drove to the Lookout. The first road (see previous reports) is well-graded gravel and extends to a trailhead with a map. Do not hike, but get back in the car and drive to the next right turn. Turn, and drive about a half mile to the Fire Tower Road. The Fire Tower Road is steep at the start, and overgrown later, so if you wish to drive it, 4WD is advisable. On the other hand it is only a quarter mile long, so you can just walk it. There are 2 ramshackle sheds behind the tower (gray & red), but I think both are lower than the tower itself.
