Ascent Trip ReportWe started at the mountaineer's route and then went toward the Carillon pass. We had much gain in the beginning, and then Carillon Pass was mostly scree and loose talus. When we got to the base of Mt. Russell, it was some sketchy class 3 in route-finding and with the knife's edge. This was the most challenging hike that I ever did and I was proud of summiting at 3:30 PM. We did this hike in a day which was challenging.
