Ascent Trip Report

Gear notes:
- Approach shoes worked well for me on the whole route, even with slightly wet rock on the crux.
- Brought way too much pro, thinking it would be helpful as a new trad leader for longer simul climbing. I should have known better, since I followed the route last year, but I wasn't paying attention the rack at the time since I wasn't yet leading trad. Light single rack plus a #4 for the crux is the way to go. Most of the route is easy 4th class, and pro isn't needed often.
- We used a 70m rope to avoid the down climb on the 2nd rappel. It wasn't necessary since that part was dry, but if it had been wet, I wouldn't have been very happy down climbing 15ft of exposed wet serpentine.

Pitching notes:
- Simul climbed to chockstone
- Belayed a very short pitch starting up the north side of the chockstone to the flat area right of the first gendarme
- Belayed a second short pitch for the down climb into the notch, and up to a flat belay area.
- Simul climbed to flat area just below the crux
- Belayed a third pitch from the crux to the summit
