Ascent Trip Report

Fisher chimneys route. Easy, beautiful approach to lake ann is in great shape. From there, there's a very well maintained climbers trail to the base of the fisher chimneys. Route finding in the chimneys is trivial, there's a pretty good trail for most of it. There are 3 fourth class headwalls to scramble up, the rest is walking or class 2 terrain.

Winnies slide is short but steep. There is a short section of exposed ice. We bivied at the top of winnies slide. There is running water and the views are utterly spectacular there.

The next morning, there is a short, steep-ish ice slope to gain the upper Curtis glacier, from there, walk easy ground to the base of hells highway. There are open crevasses but they are easily avoidable. Hells highway looks intidimating from a distance but once you are on it, it's an easy snow climb. From the top of the highway, meet the boot pack on the Sulphide glacier to the summit pyramid.

We took the southeast rib variation, which is much more fun and solid than the Gulley, which I did in 2017. I highly recommend the rib - solid rock, easy low 5th climbing with some delightfully exposed and airy moves!
