Ascent Trip ReportThis was a fantastic hike with some of the best views I've seen. The weather was perfect, around 80 degrees and sunny with some fluffy white clouds passing by. The air was quite humid so that you could see the haze settling over the valley and supporting the weather report for thunderstorms rolling in on Sunday the 28th.
We hiked up Forest City Trail to Long Trail then came down the Burrow's Trail. Forest City and the Long Trail were both well maintained with several creeks crossing the path to splash some cool water on your face. The trail also took you right along the cliff in certain areas providing amazing views throughout the hike and a few really great photo opportunities. There were also fewer hikers. There was a mob of hikers starting the same time as Steph and I but they all went up Burrows trail (easiest/quickest at 4.2ish. Ours was about 5.5 miles).
Steph and I had a lovely time sitting up on the summit looking out over the Long trail side at the mountain range abutting Camel's Hump.
Definitely recommend the hike and the trail loop that we took. |
